Jane A. Starr, M.D, FACOG


Born in Pittsburgh, PA., raised in Westwood, MA, Dr. Jane Starr moved to Texas in 2004. She received her BS degree in biology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, located in Troy, NY and subsequently received her medical degree from Albany Medical College, Albany, NY in 1981 as part of a 6-year combined BS-MD program.

She served her internship and residency at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, Worcester, MA and was chief resident from 1984-85. Dr. Starr began her practice in 1985. Her practice has taken her from rural North Carolina, to Manchester, NH, Torrington, CT and now to Texas. Dr. Starr joined Southwest Ob/Gyn Associates, LLP in September 2004. Since arriving in Texas, she has become certified in Robotically assisted gynecologic surgery and office based surgical techniques that help patients return to work in a quicker fashion and offer less pain and bleeding over traditional methods. She is excited to offer MonaLisa Touch for her patients affected by the changes of menopause.

Dr. Starr and her husband have two children and her interests include an intense interest in quilting and different techniques to arrive at the finished product and all sports, both spectator and participant. Her other hobbies are knitting, crochet and traveling. She now has a new grandchild.

Dr. Starr is certified by American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology and is a member of the Fort Bend County Medical Society.
